In theSKImag #14, on sale now in newsagents and good ski stores, you'll find an in-depth interview with expert fitter Ian Thomas. Here are his three top tips.
- Talk it over – go to an expert boot fitter and tell them what they need to know – how much skiing you do, what variety, what your skiing ambitions are and any previous problems you’ve had with boots.
- Don’t be afraid to go the extra mile and get a footbed. Experts estimate 95% of people need a footbed, either to improve fit and comfort or to improve performance.
- Make the most of micro-adjustable buckles to refine the closure as your boot wears in and as it heats up during the day. Also use the flex adjustor if you have one, especially to select stiffer flex for icy conditions.
